What we are drinking?
Mike – Redchurch Hoxton Stout
Thick and rich with a whisper of chocolate this is a beer I keep returning to as the nights get colder. Enough strength to warm rather than overwhelm and a body that while thick isn’t heavy which means drinking more than one bottle of this is oh so easy.
Ruth – To Ol Santa Gose F&#%!- It All
This is one of the beers from our Christmas range. Very different from your usual festive beer as it is a gose style brewed with passionfruit, guava and mango. Deliciously refreshing with a fruity aroma followed by a light sour and slightly salty tropical taste. A lovely beer to enjoy over the Christmas break to cleanse the palate after all that scrumptious food. Great name for a Christmas beer too as I am sure many of us feel like that at some point during the Christmas build up whether it is the Christmas songs on repeat or the endless shopping that pushes us over the edge. With this beer Santa gave up delivering presents and took a holiday in the Bahamas – wouldn’t that be nice!
Paul – Kernel IPA Mosaic
The Kernel Brewery from London don’t seem to put a foot wrong so it is no surprise that Paul is currently enjoying the Kernel Mosaic IPA as much as he is. The citrus and pine characteristics of the Mosaic hop are brought out fully so this is the beer to try if you want to know what all the fuss about the Mosaic hop is. Keep an eye out for other Kernel beers on the shelves, with their ever changing hop profiles they are a great way to explore the variety of hops.
Being the season and all we will be putting some Christmas themed beers into the mix such as White Christmas from Saltaire which features coriander seeds and orange peel in the brew. New on draught to us is the Durham Brewery with a couple of their pale ales making an appearance on the stillages. Then for a bit of fun there will be Crème Brulee on Keg, if you haven’t tried it before you don’t want to miss out. It really is a dessert in a glass, look out for it in the week leading up to Christmas.
New Packaged Beers
As mentioned above we have lots of Christmas beers available, get them while you can as once they are gone they are gone! For other new beers it is worth checking the shop often, as at this time of year new beers will be appearing on the shelves even faster than normal.
Finally Ruth and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thanks for the support through the year and we look forward to doing it all again next year!
