It is a busy time here at Hop Stop with not only the silly season in full swing but also we finally have the keys to our Reigate project so it is action on two fronts. Come the New Year we will give you much more information about Reigate, lets just get the next couple of mad weeks out of the way first.
Draught Line Up
The photo above gives you a taste of what draught beer we have lined up for you in the lead up to Christmas. A mix of old favourites; Christmas themed beers, punchy numbers and of course a few sessionable ales perfect for when you feel like a few pints. While it is hard to predict exactly when each beer will be on come next week the draught really starts to FLY so we expect a rapid turnover, keep checking the website to see what is pouring at anytime.
The eagle eyed amongst you would have noticed the pump-clip with only a question mark on it. Well Ruth and I have decided Christmas can come early next Friday when we will be tapping a special cask. Now longtime readers of this email will recall there have been issues with casks that I have talked up in advance so I am taking no chances on this one. All I can say is that it is from a highly regarded UK brewery who has recently returned to brewing cask ale. Find out who and what next Friday.

Hop Stop Online
The shop might close in the evenings but online we are open 24/7 so shop in comfort at home, possibly with a beer in hand and send the gift of beer this year. UK delivery is only £5 and there is a range of packs available suitable for all beer drinkers and budgets. Start shopping here.
Thanks to all of you who have provided feedback on your Advent Calendars so far, it is interesting hearing your thoughts on the various beers. I have been working my way through them as well so I can know what you are talking about. What has been most fascinating is the unexpected delights, drinkers who would have sworn they didn’t like fruity beers and loved the Sleeping Limes lager, or the person who wouldn’t normally drink a coffee milk stout but was blown away by the Black Perle. I am as guilty as the next drinker of sticking to styles that I know and like but the calendar has been a good reminder to not get stuck in a rut. Try it for yourself next time you are in the shop, choose a beer at random and you might just surprise yourself.
A Christmas throwback and two bottles to treat yourself with. Oh and yes, that is more fresh To Ol cases in the background.
Hook Norton Twelve Days 5.5%
Reading the description of Twelve Days I wasn’t sure, malty nuttiness with a sweet finish doesn’t exactly get me excited. So I was pleasantly surprised when I tried, and really enjoyed it. Deep brown, the nutty malt hits straight away and then a long, sweet finish lingers on your palate. Superbly balanced this would be a great stocking filler for an ale drinker.
3 Fonteinen Cuvee Armand & Gaston 5.2%
Pull the cork on this Christmas day and let the tart, lemony, funk, provide a contrast to all that rich food. Enjoy it with a cheeseboard where the spritzy farmhouse nature of the beer is a perfect match to a creamy camembert. Forget the Champagne on New Years Eve and pull out a bottle of this instead. Or simply savour on it’s own while contemplating the wonder of spontaneous fermentation and the skill of the blender.
To Ol Maelk Shake 12.5%
Just in case an Imperial Vanilla Milk Stout isn’t quite enough for you To Ol have turned the dial to 11 and aged this with rum barrel chips because, well, why not. Creamy, sweet and sticky with a floating undercurrent of warming rum (or is that just the alcohol content talking) this beer has it all going on.
