After the extended nature of the last two emails (thank you to all of you who commented on our pieces) this week I will keep it short and sweet.
Oxted Christmas Event and Micro Pub
Next Thursday (15th) is the Love Oxted Christmas light switch on with lots of activities for the whole family including street artists and fairground rides. The fun kicks off at 5pm with Santa turning the lights on at 6pm. To help you get in the spirit of the season we are holding a micro-pub evening so come and get yourself a pint to enjoy in the shop or while taking in the event. We are open until 9pm so plenty of time to come in and have a beer.
Come and live the dream! If you or someone you know is looking to turn a passion for beer into a job please get in touch with us. We are looking for a beer lover to join the Hop Stop team over the busy Christmas period. This is a part-time role with the opportunity for it to become permanent full time hours in the New Year. Drop us a line or visit us in the shop if you are interested.
Advent Calendars are now available. If you have pre-ordered one we will be in contact shortly to arrange a collection time, if not, now is your chance to secure a calendar of 24 unique beers ready for the 1st of December.
Don’t forget, go the All Blacks!
Three very different IPA’s this week.
Cloudwater / Bagby Beer System Failure 9%
The eagle eyed amongst you will note that this beer isn’t quite new, it has been on the shelf for a couple of weeks but after trying it I felt compelled to share the goodness with you. A big old fashioned West Coast style IPA. Pine, resin and bitterness are all present and correct, it really is all about those classic US style hops. Absolutely my type of beer the only word of caution is having more than one in an evening could result in a system failure of your own.
Magic Rock / Wylam Yeah Yeah Yeah 6.5%
Hard to imagine Magic Rock and Wylam putting their names on a bad beer and Yeah Yeah Yeah definitely is a yes, yes, yes. A Brut IPA with a little bit extra courtesy of a dose of dry hopping Yeah Yeah Yeah has a floral aroma and a finish which is dry, not bitter.
Track The Sentinel IPA%
Manchester based Track are quietly making a name for themselves in the UK brewing scene and I wouldn’t be surprised if 2019 is a real break out year for them. The Sentinel has the haze and full mouthfeel that so many recent IPA’s have and of course there are the big fruit notes as well. To be honest it wasn’t the beer for me as I got a bit too much hop burn but other drinkers I have talked to love it.
Available Draught Beers
Big match this weekend so plenty of beer available to enjoy with the game. Sea Shells and 360 Mosaic will be available from tomorrow, at this stage I am not anticipating any changes on the keg lines but keep an eye on our website just in case there is some late changes to the starting line up.
